Creative Expressions: Adventure in Songwriting...

Sooooo I will be the first to admit that this recording is faaaar from perfect (and the pitch ain't perfect, either!)...but just thought I'd share this song I wrote...The words honestly just came to me last night as I was lying in bed, attempting to sleep. I am pretty sure it makes a better poem than song, but it's about practicing creativity and  not being afraid, isn't it??

And, by all means, just skip the song and read the words. They go:

Release Heaven in this place, O God
Saturate our lives with Your Presence
Draw us near to You, O God,
So we can feel the beating of Your Heart

Reveal Your Love and Goodness, God
In ever-increasing waves
So we might be washed afresh in you,
And walk boldly in Your grace

For we are your people,
And You are our God
Earnestly we seek you
To you, we lift our praise (x2)
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Receive our sacrifice of praise
And our heart-cries for Your Spirit
Fill our lamps with oil, God
So we can burn brighter for you
So we can burn brighter for you
So we can burn brighter for you

Yeahhh, Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

For we are the chosen ones,
The children of the Most High
It's in our worship and our praise
That we sound our battle-cry (x2)

Hallelujah, Hallelujah

We'll rebuild the ancient ruins
We'll repair the broken walls.
We'll restore the streets with dwellings.
In this season, Lord.
In Your Love.
(Isaiah 58)
